I have woken up extra early .... oh hell who am I kidding I didn't go to sleep
.... I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I am finally going to see Allie and DURAN DURAN at the same time.
ok on the bus and just kickin back listening to DD ... Of Course .... and having
good thoughts. Sitting watching the world go by as I get closer and closer to Sydney. In Chatswood and get a SMS
off of Allie .... Just Landed.... I think ... this is really happening isn't it.
As the bus nears Central my gut is goin mental with butterflies ..... Then I
SMS Allie .... At Central. Walking through the train station keeping an eye out for her ... then I spot her and she
spots me.... and then we do the whole kinda run for each other, bags going evereywhere thing. Tears and oh my gods look
at you's going left right and centre.
Walking out of central, my arm hooked in hers. we walk over to our accomodation
the YHA ... great place by the way .... Check in go to our room check it out leave our stuff and off we head, we walk around
Darling Harbour go to Paddy's Market .... and would you believe that the first thing we see are the black bands we used to
wear back then so of course we had to buy them lol and other such stuff.
We decide head back and as we were walking Allie goes " Oh my god, John Taylor"
... I have a near Heartattack while she is cracking up at me ..... It wasn't him ..... cow.
ok we are back at the YHA but make a small detour down to the Scubar .... beers and talking about old time, having a good giggle .... Voddy and Bourbon, pretty much
the same as the beer part but a bit louder this time ... then there he was SIMON .... ok it wasn't actually him, but this
guy did look a wee bit like him, anyhoo had enuff of that place, moved on to
a bar just down the road and after we had got our bottles of Voddy and Bourbon we sat and had a drink and chatted more.
Back up to the YHA and on to the roof and sang (Allie) and danced (Allie)
to DD ..... Had to sleep .... 1.30am and in bed trying to sleep.

Day of days ... It has arrived, the day we have been waiting for for 22 years
..... we wake up pretty early ... food beckons us. We head over to central and catch the train to Town Hall and walk
from there to the National Library and take photo's of the steps and us ... cause thats where they did the photo shoot
for Seven and the Ragged Tiger. ( we had to do it )
This is me on the steps .... I promised Allie that I wouldn't put one of her on
here.
Then walked down to the Opera House and sat there got photo's ... mind
you we still had our DD radar on and had all the time, we looked everywhere for just a glimpse before the show,
but nothing.
Decided it was time to go back to the YHA and so we walked to Circular Quay and
caught the train back to Central, went up and just veged for the rest of the afternoon until it was time to meet the LSers
at the Pumphouse .... by the way great bunch of people and can't wait to meet them all again.... DURANCON 08 hopefully.
Sitting around was very nerve racking for me, I just wanted to get in there and
see "Our Boys" .... and I was so not disappointed with the concert.
OH MY GOODNESS ...... *thud*
The concert absolutely rocked, It went off. I will never forget this till the day
I die and I can tell you now, I will die a very very happy woman after seeing them Live ..... Finally.
The songs were brillant here is the line up of them
For this set they wore their RCM Clothes ... they all looked awesome.

For this set they pretty much wore the same black suit but with out the jackets,
but they still looked good.

Wild Boys
After Wild Boys they went of stage and everyone in the SEC went mental and started
stomping and clapping, they came back out and did the last song which was Girls On Film, where Simon did the intro of everyone
and said this at the start of the song "Now I want everybody to smile, because Nick Rhodes wants to take your photograph"
then the lights all went off like a gazillion flashes ... soooo cool.
After the show we raced around to the back stage door along with about 200 other
people to await "Our Boys" and we were not disappointed.
we stood around for hours and hours waiting, and then the bloody rain came didn't
it, but that still didn't stop us.
Dom Brown and some of the others came out and jumped into a bus type thing and drove
off ... no graphes from Dom ... He played rather well actually, not like Andy but he was good, I will always
be an original five girl, sorry Dom :), not saying that I don't want him there, far from it, it's hard to explain without
sounding narkie ... I will give it a go .... but in my mind there are now four members of DD and he will not be number
five ... ever. I know mean right.
Andyway (lol) back to my story .......
John Taylor did the same thing and just didn't sign anything just drove off ... ah
well no matter, I think he still may have been a wee bit crook from the man flu he had.
We didn't have much longer to wait ( ok a lot longer )before Simon Nick and Roger
... my three favorite boys ... came out and as soon as they walked out the door they came straight over to sign graphes
for the couple hundred fans that were standing there in the rain waiting for them ... I thought that was so cool of them.
And they are all so Handsome in person.
Now, I had to move away from everyone ... my athsma from all the smokers was
playing up ... Allie stayed there with the things we wanted signed ... My Duran Bear ( which Allie gave just for
this ) and the Shirts I had made for the show, Allie had JT on hers and I had SLB cause that's who we liked in school,
( things do change ), well Allie took hers off ( she had a another shirt on under it you perv's ) and got Simon to sign it,
but she also got him to sign my bear and also Nick.... but no Rogers graph :( ... maybe next time. But I so lurve her
for getting them for me.
Simon then came back up towards where I was standing at the back of the crowd
and there was a gap and he could see my shirt, and he pointed at it and had this huge grin on his face, I tell ya I
melted on the spot and couldn't talk.
After all of that excitement we went back to where we were staying and just crashed.

The day after and the last day of our reunion..... I really didn't want to leave
but knew that I had to ..... we didn't really do much, just went down to Paddy's Market again had a feed then went up to central
to wait for my bus to come back home..... We hugged for the longest time and cried a bit, but not because we wouldn't see
each other again but be cause we would be. just you not another 22 years.
We keep in touch all the time now, and have even caught up with another of our mates from school.
Well I hope that you enjoyed my little story and don't forget to go and check out my photo's from the show, there not
all up yet but I will get there.
